We are looking for a Planning Assistant Specialist in Operations Controlling for our global business partner which is operating in the Maritime Business and Administration or Logistics.

Reporting to Team Leader, the responsibilities of Planning Assistant Specialist in Operations Controlling will be as follows:

Effectively provide planning support to local operations in different countries,

Prepare vessel loading and discharging stowage plans by using TOS (Terminal Operation System) (Navis) while ensuring that all customer requests meet the demands,

Plan all yard activities including interfacility transfers and CFS (Container Freight Services) service orders,

Prepare and improve yard strategies in line and aligned with the general and daily needs of local operations,

Monitor the key performance indicators of the terminals to ensure that targets are achieved and operational flows are being followed efficiently,

Monitor and dispatch the equipment in terminal and maximize equipment utilization while ensuring all operational flows are followed,

Ensure that all containers moved within the yard are properly planned stacked in the assigned position to achieve the desire yard pattern,

Allocate the correct number of equipment to reach productivity and efficiency targets,

Ensure that all equipment is available in the right location at the yard,

Continuous equipment monitoring with focus upon operational productivity,

Dispatch and control the work orders, sequences and queues for container handling equipment (Quayside, Horizontal transport, Yard, Truck, Rail, Empty Yard),

Exception handling in direct interaction with team on terminal and other operational controllers,

Communicate with operational personnel / operators of handling equipment for management of work orders and exception resolution.


Graduated from related fields of reputable universities preferably in Maritime Business and Administration or Logistics,

Must be fluent in Spanish,

Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point etc.),

Working knowledge of TOS (preferably Navis),

A ‘can do’ approach, willingness to learn and extend the role above and beyond the job description,

Is self-directed and self-motivated, able to work both independently and within a highly collaborative team environment,

Have customer, quality, process and result driven approach,

Strong analytical and organizational skills and ability to organize and prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously and complete tasks per deadlines,

Capability to anticipate problems by recognizing the key issues in problems and creating contingency plans and alternative solutions,

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills interact with people from various countries, cultures and all business levels,

Effective negotiation and conflict resolution skills combined with good counselling and listening skills,

Excellent analytical skills, teamwork skills and multi-task orientation,

Ability to work in a fast paced and deadline oriented environment,

Ambitious and motivated for a career in global port operations,

Completed military service requirement (for male candidates only),

Residence in Kocaeli or Anatolian side of Istanbul is preferred,

Able to work in 3 shifts.
